How to Share a File Securely (One-Off Share)

Sharing a file securely doesn't have to be complicated — especially when it's a quick, one-off share that isn't tied to an ongoing project. This guide walks through the fastest way to send a file securely, plus two "leveled up" options for sharing directly from your email.

When to Use a One-Off Share

If you just need to send a single document without connecting it to a project or an ongoing back-and-forth conversation, a one-off share is the simplest route.

Sharing a File

  1. Click the Share Files button

  2. Drag your document into the window or click Browse Files. This generates a secure link that you can paste into an email or wherever it's needed.

You can further customize the link to add security, additional recipients, and add or remove files!

  1. Copy the current link to share it with your intended recipients. If the link is unsecured, anyone with the link can access the file.
  2. You can adjust the link's expiration here.
  3. If you want to add additional security to the link, you can set it up. Both options require additional setup:
    1. Email OTP (One-Time PIN).
    2. SMS (Text) OTP.
  4. If you have selected Email or SMS OTP, you must add the recipients. This allows them to receive the codes.
  5. After entering an email or mobile phone number, click Add Recipient.
  6. After you make changes to the link, click Update to save them.
  7. If you are setting up the link the first time, after you've made your changes, click Update & Send Link to save your changes and then send the link to the recipients!
